Bout at the Ballpark to Feature NCAA, International Wrestling Teams at Globe Life Field

Two big wrestling matches are coming to Arlington’s Globe Life Field in 2022.

The doubleheader event, dubbed “Bout at the Ballpark” and scheduled for Feb. 12, 2022, will feature dual matches between Oklahoma State University and the University of Iowa and senior national teams from the U.S. and Iran. The matches will also stream live via FloSports, the exclusive broadcast partner.

Bout at the Ballpark will be the first-ever international competition hosted at Globe Life Field. Both the Oklahoma State-Iowa and U.S.-Iran meets will take place simultaneously, with bouts from the two competitions alternating throughout the event on two different mats — the first time a senior-level international meet and an NCAA meet have followed this format.

The mats will be located between the pitcher’s mound and second base, placed on raised stages meant to improve sightlines from the seating bowl. Globe Life Field will add floor seating, with capacity expected to reach at least 27,000 attendees.

“I am very excited to announce Bout at the Ballpark,” said Sean Decker, president of REV Entertainment, the event’s host and operator. “We are proud to have the opportunity to host a competition that celebrates four of the most iconic brands in the sport of wrestling, the Oklahoma State Cowboys against the Iowa Hawkeyes and USA Wrestling versus Iran. I want to thank these four great programs for their incredible cooperation in helping us put together this spectacular wrestling event.”
