Traci Darden, who earned a degree in interior design from Texas State University, moved to North Texas in 1995 and started Elements of Design soon after. While the company’s primary focus is model homes and new construction, she and her team genuinely enjoy working on special projects like this.
EOD opened the first showroom in Southlake over 15 years ago; propelled by referrals and clients walking through the firm’s projects, the company continues to grow and is now in its new showroom located on Nolen Drive in Southlake. Darden does all build jobs for Heritage Homes, owned by John Webb. Darden was one of the designers on the 2019 Showcase Home Colleyville, in which the magazine collaborated with Heritage Homes and more than a dozen designers.
The style of Heritage Homes’ Dream Street home is Hill Country modern. “This house is designed for entertaining. On top of that, it boasts a great lot with spectacular views, which we took advantage of when designing the spaces,” Darden says. The second floor includes covered and uncovered patio space and takes in views of the backyard landscape and pool. “We all dream of watching the city of Southlake fireworks from this balcony.”
In her design of this house, she specified materials inspired by nature. As soon as you step inside, you are greeted by a custom-designed stone wall in the entry paired with a gorgeous floating stairway with glass panels and integrated lighting – this home truly is a show home.
