To Dream Home Attendees, Thank You for Giving Back

When we write about the Fort Worth Magazine Dream Home, there are admittedly a lot of numbers that get thrown around. Square footage, bedrooms, bathrooms, acreage, price, etc. But no number is more important than the one we’re about to reveal: $30,699.83

This number represents the amount of money raised for a Wish with Wings through tickets sold for touring and this year’s raffle, which included three incredible prizes. Thursday, Fort Worth Magazine presented a check for the above amount to the local nonprofit that grants wishes to North Texas children with life-threatening medical diagnoses.

And whether you knew it or not, all of this goodwill came from you, our readers. In its 25 years of existence, one of the most important aspects of the Fort Worth Magazine Dream Home has been charity. And for the past 12 years, the publication has teamed up with a Wish with Wings as the project’s signature beneficiary. The money serves as a tremendous boost to the organization, which fulfilled a record 64 wishes in 2024, including a remodeled home for a 7-year-old girl named Dream.

“It’s incredible,” Judy Youngs, president and CEO of a Wish with Wings, told us in March. “Not only the attention and awareness, but the revenue that [the Dream Home] produces for us. It’s difficult to replace a revenue stream like that — one that has been so continuous annually.”

This philanthropy is also a main driver for participation among Dream Home partners, including Susan Semmelmann of Semmelmann Interiors.

“The spirit of living is giving,” Semmelmann told us. “We love that we can go out and forge that path in our local community to give back to not only a Wish with Wings but also diving into our community with tremendous passion for what we do.”

So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Whether you purchased a ticket, toured the home, or simply helped spread the word — your participation not only celebrated the best in homebuilding and design, but also made a lasting difference in our community.
